Skinny is in!

This is the grievance of a woman who loves herself more than anyone in the world .To put an end to being called Skinny, thin, bony and lanky.

A frivolous attempt to boost the confidence of all those skinny people around me on how to deal with people who call you skinny

The bottom line is to believe in yourself and to love yourself wholeheartedly because the moment you start worrying or doubting the body your live in it will affect the functioning ; mentally and physically.

Never hate your body for anything. Be grateful. Let that be your mantra.

Firstly, you are a couple of kilos underweight!!! So what? We still eat, drink, breathe, walk, talk and run like you or maybe (in most cases) better than you…I have always seen a very similar scenario when a woman gets pregnant. I feel like shouting it out …. Pregnancy is not a disease . So pregnant women are not sick, it is just a phase of changes.hmm let that be for now as it is quite debatable… Getting back to our “thin” story…

Once you are convinced and happy about yourself the comments of others doesn’t matter.

But that doesn’t give the second/third/N th person any right to comment about any attribute of ours, nor do we need to put up with it.

Firstly think of what is making the other person say so and is that causing any kind of worry to you. If it is, then it is not the person who comments who needs to change but you.

Any external factor can only say things but they cannot enter your head and make you think or feel a certain way.

Being skinny isn't the worst thing that can happen to you. You are less of a few kilograms that does not mean that you start stuffing your face with food and falling ill. Know your body and your system .Just eat right. I’ve been told many a times to eat cheese, butter( I also know of someone who fries his chicken in butter and eats it..), eat milk powder and so on. Excess of anything is bad for your body. Just eat right and don’t skip your meals.

I always take it as a compliment…

When some say “Oh my god!!! you are so Thin”

my mind automatically rephrases it to

“ Oh wow !!you are so Skinny”

When you are skinny you are automatically blessed with a flat tummy, slender arms and all girls envy you coz you fit into a size 24 denim and a n XS top and sometimes even an XXS!!!

When I was younger I used to be so annoyed with people telling me this and I used to get angry with them. Now I choose to ignore or smile (well the sly one). Well that works because the conversation will never get interesting for the other person if you don’t argue.

If the person really gnaws you for an answer just assertively say that it is your high metabolism.

Well in my mind I just say “but forget about my case; I’m worried about your diabetes or blood pressure.”

If this bothers you much you could discuss the issue with someone close who could help you through it. Even concern sometimes gets to you because for you it is an everyday thing…Have other Skinny friends who thinks it is cool to be so.

One venting session with your skinny friends is such a relief.

Keeping aside all of these, the best thing about being skinny is that you don’t have to be counting your calories. You can binge on anything that comes your way. You never outgrow your clothes. You are mostly super active…

Sometimes for me it is like “the good deed of the day” letting people call me skinny and making them feel better about themselves being fat and other imperfections. Passing such irrelevant comments makes them feel better and cover up other insecurities to some extent.

Exercise regularly, eat well, drink lots of water and stay happy and I think you are just perfect and good to go rock! ….stay happy and healthy…and so share your skinny stories..
